A wonderful vintage Haynes Handmade Flute finished February 16, 1988. Any player of a Haynes will tell you that they chose their Haynes for "that sound", a rich, velvety smooth sound with unmatched tone color. This rare flute is built on the Deveau scale, the design by legendary Lewis J Deveau that modernized Haynes flute-making forever. This scale is known for improved intonation, response and tonal clarity. Haynes now uses the current variation of this scale on their pro flutes.

This flute offers a smooth, velvety sound with excellent tone color, while offering a softer, less "edgy" sound than many of the most modern Haynes flutes. This sound bridges the warm color of the golden age models with the improved clarity, response and tone of the current day models.
This model was the top-of-the-line model back in 1988, fully handmade with soldered toneholes, silver keys, gold springs and upgrades. This model was upgraded in the past with Straubinger pads and newly upgraded with a permanent headjoint cork for improved response and long term playability.
